CAMDEN, N.J. — Diego Palmieri has been named vice-president and chief marketing officer, U.S. Meals & Beverages at the Campbell Soup Co., effective July 18. He will report to Roberto Leopardi, president, Meals & Beverages, and will be responsible for all aspects of marketing and consumer engagement in the United States across a portfolio of brands that include Campbell's, Chunky, Well Yes!, Slow Kettle, Swanson, V8, Plum, Pace and Prego.
“Diego has spent his career marketing and selling consumer products in the United States and abroad,” Mr. Leopardi said. “He is an accomplished marketer and experienced business leader with a track record of growing businesses through a deep understanding of brand value and success in building e-commerce into the marketing and sales mix.”
Mr. Palmieri joins the company from S.C. Johnson and Son, Inc., where he held various business and marketing roles over more than two decades. Most recently, he was general manager of the company's Greater China business. He began his career at Sanyo Electric Co. and then worked for Nestle Argentina, managing the Maggi soup and bouillon business. He has a master of business administration degree from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
