David Young has been named operations manager at Somic America, a packaging equipment manufacturer. In this role, he will oversee aftermarket services, which include customer technical support and the spare parts division.

Mr. Young’s manufacturing experience spans 29 years. He has worked in a variety of management positions within e-commerce, packaging and co-manufacturing sectors.

Peter Fox, senior vice-president of sales, Somic America, noted that Mr. Young’s well-rounded manufacturing experience supports Somic America’s expansion. 

“He’s a jack-of-all trades and has had success in many different management and supervisory positions,” Mr. Fox said. “Somic America continues to grow with more customers and greater responsibilities. Mr. Young is the right person to help us maintain and handle that growth and what lies ahead.”
