WASHINGTON — Russell Lamb, an expert in domestic and international agriculture markets, will address the boards of directors of the American Bakers Association and Allied Trades of the Baking Industry during their annual Joint Boards of Directors Meeting on Oct. 2 in Washington.

Dr. Lamb, who is currently a principal at the Advanced Analytical Consulting Group (AACG) based in Arlington, Va., will speak to the boards on the impacts of the drought on U.S. agriculture. Specifically, Dr. Lamb will call attention to the effects of the drought on wheat, corn and soybean supplies and what, if any, actions the federal government may take to address this and similar future crises.


Dr. Lamb has conducted extensive research and econometric analysis on markets for agricultural commodities. He received a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and his articles on agricultural economics have been published in peer-reviewed journals, trade press, and major newspapers.

Prior to joining AACG, Dr. Lamb established the Washington office of Econ One and earlier was an assistant professor of agricultural economics at North Carolina State University, and an economist and senior economist in the Federal Reserve System of the United States, at the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
