DALLAS — Income for Brinker International, Inc. rose 18% during the first quarter on operational efficiencies and higher sales.
For the quarter ended Sept. 26, the company had income of $27,864,000, equal to 38c per share on the common stock, which compared with $23,621,000, or 29c per share, during the same quarter of the previous year. Total revenue during the quarter was $663,507,000, up 2% from $668,402,000 during the same quarter of the previous year.
“Brinker delivered 23% e.p.s. growth during the quarter by increasing operational efficiencies and growing top-line sales that outpaced the industry,” said Doug Brooks, president and chief executive officer. “Our long-term strategies continue to strengthen our business model, help us drive more predictable and sustainable growth and give us confidence we’ll deliver on our long-term promise to double E.P.S. to $2.75 to $2.80.”
