SALEM, ORE. — Kettle Brand announced it is adding non-GMO Project verification to 16 of its kettle-cooked potato chip flavors. The brand is the first and only potato chip brand to earn verification, according to Kettle Brand.
Kettle said the first flavors to feature the Non-GMO Project verification prominently on front-of packaging will appear on store shelves by January 2013. The flavors will include sea salt and vinegar, spicy Thai, sea salt, jalapeño and salt and fresh ground pepper.
“For over 30 years, Kettle Brand has been focused upon providing great taste, naturally, and for our consumers this means investing in non-GMO verification and labeling,” said Marc McCullagh, brand manager for Kettle Brand. “Kettle Brand has been committed since day one to using all natural ingredients you can pronounce, recognize and trust. Investing in Non-GMO labeling is just another way to ensure ingredients with the highest integrity.”
