CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA — General Mills, Inc. is considering a continued investment in its Cedar Rapids facility in 2014, which if completed would create 40 new jobs.
“The potential expansion will involve the conversion of approximately 10,000 square feet of warehouse space in the facility to food manufacturing space in support of our business operations,” the company said.
The Cedar Rapids facility makes cereal and snacks.
General Mills has asked the state of Iowa for money to help with the proposed $60 million expansion project.
General Mills currently has 650 employees at the Cedar Rapids plant.
