PLANO, TEXAS – Frito-Lay, a business unit of PepsiCo, Inc., is expanding its Ruffles MAX potato chip line with a beer-battered onion ring flavor.
“Onion rings are one of those staple guy-get-together foods,” said Tony Matta, vice-president of marketing for Frito-Lay North America. “We wanted to incorporate that flavor for guys to share for any impromptu gathering – just grab a bag off the shelf and throw a party with your crew.”
Other varieties in the Ruffles MAX line include loaded bacon and cheddar potato skins and smokehouse-style barbecue.
The chips are available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $1.49 for a 2.5-oz bag and $4.29 for an 8-oz bag.
