PLANO, TEXAS – Frito-Lay, a business unit of PepsiCo, is adding a grilled red pepper and tomato salsa flavor to its line of Tostitos Artisan Recipes tortilla chips.
With 8 grams of whole grains per serving, the chips are flavored with ancho chile, smoked paprika, garlic, onion, roasted red bell pepper, sundried tomato and lime.
“When developing new flavors for the Tostitos Artisan Recipes line, we look at culinary trends, knowing that our consumer is on top of what's new, but also looking for easy ways to incorporate the latest flavor trends into their snacks," said Jody Denton, executive chef at Frito-Lay's culinary research and development center.
Other flavors in the Tostitos Artisan Recipes line include roasted garlic and black bean, fire-roasted chipotle, baked three-cheese queso and Southwestern spices.
The tortilla chips with the new flavor are available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.99.
