SIDNEY, OHIO — Donald R. Shaffer, founder of Shaffer Manufacturing Co. (now part of The Bundy Co.), died April 12. He was 87 years old.

Mr. Shaffer was formerly vice-president and general manager of Peerless Food Equipment and vice-president and general manager of BE/W Mixer Division before starting his own company, Shaffer Manufacturing Corp., in 1986. The Bundy Co. acquired Shaffer Manufacturing in 2007.

A World War II Navy veteran, Mr. Shaffer was a life member of the Sidney American Legion, Amvets and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Moose and Eagles Lodges at Indian Lake in Sidney. He was a former member of the Sidney Rotary Club and former board member of the Sidney-Shelby Co. Chamber of Commerce.
