WASHINGTON — The Foreign Agricultural Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture indicated export wheat transactions for 2012-13 during the week ended May 16 increased 8.8 million bus. The aggregate for the current year was 995.6 million bus, 3% behind year-ago transactions of 1,025 million bus. The 2012-13 marketing year ends May 31. The U.S.D.A. forecast for U.S. wheat exports in the year at 1,025 million bus.
The year’s final tally on wheat exports will include the export of wheat products in wheat equivalent, data that is not contained in the U.S.D.A.’s weekly wheat export tables.
The U.S.D.A. indicated export wheat transactions for 2013-14 increased 26.2 million bus, bringing the total volume of wheat sold for delivery in the new marketing year to 177.4 million bus.
