VEVEY, SWITZERLAND — Paul Bulcke, chief executive officer of Nestle S.A., and Dick Boer, c.e.o. of Royal Ahold, have been elected co-chairs of the Consumer Goods Forum. Created in 2009, the forum is a global industry group that provides a platform for knowledge exchange and initiatives around five priorities: emerging trends, sustainability, safety and health, operational excellence, and knowledge sharing and people development.
Mr. Bulcke and Mr. Boer will replace Muhtar Kent, chairman and c.e.o. of The Coca-Cola Co., and Gareth Ackerman, chairman of Pick ‘n Pay Holdings Ltd. Mr. Ackerman and Denise Morrison, c.e.o. of Campbell Soup Co., were named vice-co-chairs of the C.G.F.
“The forum is even more important in these pivotal times of economic and societal changes where our industry plays a substantial role and touches a vast number of people,” Mr. Bulcke said. “There are many challenges in society today, and we have to define priorities to work together in collaboration with the multiple stakeholders in order to bring sustainable solutions. I am looking forward to serving The Consumer Goods Forum that is growing in importance, for ‘better lives through better business.’”
