If you want to advocate for the snack food industry on Capitol Hill, then join the Snack Food Association (SFA) and snack food executives for the 2013 Legislative Summit July 17-18 in Washington, DC. The event offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity for SFA members to engage Congress and other policymakers regarding key issues affecting the industry.
Some of the issues to be addressed include food choices for participants in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as food stamps; GMO labeling initiatives; school nutrition guidelines; ethanol and biofuel policy; and regulations regarding distribution and the use of independent contractors. SFA will schedule appointments with senators and representatives as well as their staff.
The keynote speaker for the event will be Kelly McDonough, vice-president, political affairs, Business-Industry Political Action Committee, which offers a wide range of tools and strategies to help members of the business community to reach their public policy goals.
