THOMASVILLE, Ga. — Chocolate Dreamies represent the latest innovation from Mrs. Freshley’s, a Flowers Foods’ brand of snack cakes and pastries. The semi-cylindrical creme-filled chocolate cakes join the original golden and raspberry flavors of Dreamies.
The Chocolate Dreamies snack cakes roll out nationally Sept. 30 in supermarkets, conveniences stores and vending machines. The chocolate-flavored cakes are available in a single-serve 2.8-oz two-pack. The cellophane-wrapped packaged features the brands updated logo and look that was launched earlier this year to give the brand a bright modern design. A clear window showcases the product, allowing consumers to view the snack cakes prior to purchasing them.
“Mrs. Freshley’s mission is snack cake innovation, whether that’s creating a new twist on a classic or developing unique items in partnership with other well-known brands,” said Brent Bradshaw, Flowers Foods’ vice-president of marketing. “Chocolate was an obvious choice when we thought about expanding our popular Dreamies line. These are the ultimate in on-the-go snacking, offering great flavor and freshness.”
A two-cake serving contains 260 calories and 3.5 grams of total fat, including 1.5 grams of saturated fat and 0 grams of trans fat.
Chocolate Dreamies further Mrs. Freshley’s reputation as an innovator, as it continually creates new products using twists on classic snacks as well as partnerships with iconic brands such as Hershey’s and Cinnabon.
Mrs. Freshley’s offers more than 50 different sweet goods, including bars, creme-filled cookies, Danishes, cinnamon rolls, snack cakes, donuts, fruit pies and honey buns.
