CANTON, MASS. — Dunkin’ Donuts has expanded its menu with the addition of a new whole wheat bagel and multigrain flatbread, both of which feature the basic Whole Grain Stamp from the Whole Grains Council. The certification means the products contain at least half a serving (8 grams) of whole grain.
The whole wheat bagel has 60 grams of whole grain, and the flatbread has 16 grams of whole grain, according to Dunkin’ Donuts. Dunkin’ previously offered a multigrain flatbread that was two pieces. The new product is one piece and shaped like an oval, making it more portable, according to Dunkin’ Donuts. Dunkin’ has offered a wheat bagel in the past, but the new offering is made with whole wheat flour.
In addition to the new bagel and flatbread, Dunkin’ has expanded its DDSMART menu with the launch of a sliced turkey breakfast sandwich. Served oven toasted on the new multigrain flatbread, the sliced turkey breakfast sandwich has 310 calories and features three slices of turkey, an egg and a slice of reduced-fat cheddar cheese. The sandwich is also available as a Wake-Up Wrap, at 160 calories, served with egg, cheese and one slice of turkey on a warmed tortilla.
