CHICAGO – Ken Campbell, formerly vice-president of North American Oilseeds for Archer Daniels Midland Co., has been named president of Specialty Commodities, Chicago-based ADM said Nov. 18. ADM also completed its acquisition of Specialty Commodities for $191 million on Nov. 18.
Kevin Andreson, formerly chief operating officer of Specialty Commodities, was appointed vice-president, Specialty Commodities. Larry Leitner, founding partner and chief executive officer of Specialty Commodities, stepped down from that position and will join ADM’s Wild Flavors and Specialty Ingredients business unit.
“We’ve put together a Specialty Commodities leadership team that is ready to grow the business,” said Greg Morris, president of the Wild Flavors and Specialty Ingredients Unit. “They know the importance of this moment: Consumers are demanding more of the healthy ingredients that Specialty Commodities can provide, and they’re demanding those ingredients in increasingly varied forms and applications. This is the right time for this business, and we are well-positioned to take advantage of the many opportunities ahead.”
ADM on Oct. 13 first announced its intention to acquire Specialty Commodities, Inc., an originator, processor and distributor of such ingredients as nuts, fruit, seeds, legumes and ancient grains.
