CHICAGO — Quaker Oats Co., a division of PepsiCo, Inc., is kick-starting oatmeal season with the launch of several new products: 3-minute steel cut oats, super grains oatmeal blend and oatmeal with protein.
Quaker Quick 3-Minute Steel Cut Oatmeal delivers a “hearty and nutty texture” with a convenient consumer desired cook time, according to Quaker. The new offering cuts the traditional cooking time of 30 minutes to 3. The steel cut oatmeal is available in original, blueberries and cranberries, and brown sugar and cinnamon.
Quaker Real Medleys Super Grains deliver a blend of fruit and nuts found in the original Real Medleys products as well as a blend of oats, wheat, barley, rye, quinoa and flax. Flavors include banana walnut and maple pecan raisin.
Quaker Protein Instant Oatmeal, available in banana nut and cranberry almond, provides 10 grams of protein and 40 grams of whole grains.
Quaker also will begin offering on-the-go cups of Quaker Instant Oatmeal: 50% Less Sugar. The less sugar options will be available with no artificial sweeteners, and will be available in cinnamon pecan and apple walnut. Quaker claims it will be the first nationally available instant oatmeal to use stevia, a zero-calorie plant extract, as a sweetener.
“We are dedicated to delivering the power of the oat to our consumers through new and delicious products that address their varied lifestyle needs,” said Joe Silverman, senior marketing director for Quaker Oats. “Whether families are looking for a wholesome and delicious start to their day, specific benefits like more protein or just a fast, convenient and filling breakfast, Quaker has a solution.”
