PURCHASE, N.Y. — Two promotions have been announced at PepsiCo, Inc. Enderson Guimaraes, chief executive officer of PepsiCo Europe, has been named executive vice-president of the company’s global categories and operations.
In his new role, Mr. Guimaraes will oversee the company’s global beverage, snacks and nutrition groups, business and information solutions, global procurement, productivity, supply chain, and corporate strategy. He joined PepsiCo in 2011 as president of global operations and was previously president of the company’s global nutrition group before becoming c.e.o. of PepsiCo Europe in 2012. He will assume responsibilities previously held by Zein Abdalla, who is retiring at the end of the year.
Ramon Laguarta, president of developing and emerging markets for PepsiCo Europe, succeeds Mr. Guimaraes as c.e.o. of PepsiCo Europe and will be responsible for the company’s food and beverage business across Europe and food business in Sub-Saharan Africa. Since 1996, Mr. Laguarta has held various positions within the company, including president of PepsiCo’s Eastern Europe region, commercial vice-president for PepsiCo Europe, general manager for Iberia snacks and juices, and general manager for Greece snacks.
Both will report to Indra Nooyi, chairman and c.e.o. of PepsiCo.
