DECATUR, ILL. – Juan R. Luciano, previously executive vice-president and chief operating officer, has been promoted to president of Decatur-based Archer Daniels Midland Co. Mr. Luciano will keep his c.o.o. position.
Mr. Luciano oversees the commercial and production activities of ADM’s corn, oilseeds and agricultural services businesses. He joined ADM in 2011 after working for 25 years at the Dow Chemical Company, where he last served as executive v.p. and president of the performance division.
Mr. Luciano at ADM will continue to report to Patricia A. Woertz, chairman and chief executive officer.
“Today’s appointment recognizes the excellent results Juan has achieved over the last three years as he has focused the ADM team on improved returns and laid the groundwork for enhanced earnings power,” Ms. Woertz said. “He has energized the organization around improvements in costs, cash and capital, and has brought both discipline and vision to ADM’s global strategy for profitable growth.”
