GENEVA, ILL. — Roquette America and World Food Processing have entered into an exclusive supply agreement to help meet North American demand for pea protein. Geneva-based Roquette America offers pea protein ingredients under the Nutralys brand for use in such applications as baked foods, snacks, cereal, dairy foods, desserts, confections, savory foods and pet foods.
World Food Processing, Oskaloosa, Iowa, is a non-bioengineered and organic soy, pea and corn breading company. It is vertically integrated into procurement, grain conditioning, ingredient processing and food formulations.
“Our partnership with World Food Processing allows Roquette America to give the U.S. market a local supply of pea protein isolates,” said Dominique Taret, chief executive officer of Roquette America. “We have seen a dramatic increase in consumer demand for our pea proteins due to their benefits, including cleaner labeling, elimination of common allergens and high digestibility.”
Jerry Lorenzen, c.e.o. of World Food Processing, said, “Food traceability is a growing concern of consumers. Our non-G.M.O. and organic closed-loop, vertically integrated model allows us complete control from seed to plate.”
