Snyder’s of Hanover enters Corn-Snacks category

HANOVER, PA. — Snyder’s of Hanover is launching a line of corn snacks called Korn Krunchers. Korn Krunchers are available in three flavors including barbeque, nacho grande, and chili lime.  Korn Krunchers barbeque delivers a smoky seasoning of sweet tomatoes and onions, while the nacho grande flavor combines sharp cheddar cheese, sweet tomatoes, and jalapeno peppers, and the chili lime packs in a fiery combination of chili peppers and lime. The corn snacks are baked, not fried, which means they deliver 30% less fat than the leading brand of corn chips. The bite-sized snacks come in 10-oz bags for a suggested retail price of $3.69.

Fiber One breakfast cereal adds protein

MINNEAPOLIS — Fiber One, a business unit of General Mills, is introducing a granola cereal with a punch of protein. Fiber One Protein provides 10 grams of protein as well as 20% of the daily recommended value of fiber per serving. The protein-packed granola cereal includes two flavors, maple brown sugar and cranberry almond. The maple brown sugar variety incorporates crunchy pecans while the cranberry almond cereal mixes in crunchy almonds and sweetened cranberry pieces. Fiber One Protein is available nationwide at a suggested retail price of $4.29.

Oreo debuts two new flavors

HANOVER, N.J. — Oreo, a business unit of Nabisco, is putting a new spin on the traditional sandwich cookie with the addition of two new flavors: cookie dough and crispy marshmallow. The cookie dough variety features a dough-flavored filling mixed with chocolate chips, while the crispy marshmallow Oreo is full of a vanilla-flavored cream and crisped rice. Both flavors are available for a limited time only.

Nutri-Grain rolls out Fruit & Oat Harvest cereal bars

BATTLE CREEK, MICH. — Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain is offering a new Fruit & Oat Harvest breakfast cereal bar. The bars are comprised of fruit and whole grains and pack in 4 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber per 200-calorie bar. Nutri-Grain Fruit & Oat Harvest cereal bars come in two flavors: strawberry and blueberry. The cereal bars are sold in boxes of five nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.59.

Post Foods announces new Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy Cereal

PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy Cereal is being introduced as a new line of cereals packed with whole grains, protein, and fiber. Honey Bunches of Oats is a business unit of Post Foods, L.L.C. The cereal comes in two varieties: cinnamon crunch and chocolate almond crunch. Each cup-serving contains 35 grams of whole grains, 5 grams of fiber and 10 grams of protein when consumed with a half cup of fat free milk. The new Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy cereal is available nationwide.

Stacy’s introduces line of Pretzel Thins

PLANO, TEXAS — Stacy’s is adding Pretzel Thins to the selection of baked snacks. The pretzels offer a crispy texture and come in two varieties: Simply Naked and honey Dijon. Simply Naked features a touch of sea salt and the honey Dijon flavor is sweetened with organic honey.  Stacy’s Pretzel Thins are made without artificial colors or flavors and don’t contain trans-fat. The pretzels are available in 7-oz bags and sold at a suggested retail price of $3.99.
