BATTLE CREEK, MICH. — The Kellogg Co. keys in on convenience with its latest spate of new product offerings. From portable cereal pouches to frozen breakfast sandwiches, forthcoming launches are designed for on-the-go eating with added benefits of whole grains.
Debuting in the cereal aisle are Kellogg’s Jif Peanut Butter cereal, with 100 calories and 8 grams of whole grains, and Rice Krispies Multi-Grain Shapes cereal, made with rice and whole grain with 6 grams of sugar per serving.
The company also is repositioning some of its popular cereal brands as on-the-go snacks in single-serving portable packages. Kellogg’s On the Go Fun cereal pouches include Froot Loops, Krave Chocolate, Apple Jacks and Corn Pops.
Snack launches span the categories of cookies, crackers and wholesome options. Under the Keebler banner comes new S’mores cookies in original and peanut butter varieties, and Simply Made Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip cookies, which are made with no artificial flavors or preservatives.
Kellogg is expanding its cracker products with Town House Pretzel crackers in Parmesan herb and sea salt flavors, and Club Cornbread Cracker Bites in homestyle and jalapeño varieties.
New from Rice Krispies are Crackle Snaps, which are bite-size snacks drizzled with caramel or fudge, and Rice Krispies Treats Blasted Bars, which include a blast of flavor, such as s’mores or chocolate chips.
New frozen food offerings from Kellogg brands broaden the company’s breakfast offerings. MorningStar Farms is adding a pair of veggie breakfast sandwiches on thin whole grain English muffins: veggie sausage with egg and cheese, and veggie scramble with cheese. Kellogg also is extending its Eggo line with Bites Chocolatey Chips pancakes and Thick and Fluffy Minis Chocolate Delight waffles.
