WASHINGTON — The International Baking Industry Exposition (I.B.I.E.) is moving up the ranks of top U.S. trade shows, according to several new reports. The Trade Show Executive recently named the I.B.I.E. a Gold 100 Honoree, while the Trade Show News Network (T.S.N.N.) ranked the event No. 43 among the 250 best trade shows across the United States.
The I.B.I.E.’s move up the rankings reflects a 2013 show that comprised a total of 392,032 net square feet and gathered more than 21,000 attendees from 100 countries. Held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from Oct. 6-9, 2013, I.B.I.E. 2013 featured more than 75 sessions covering everything from improving retail operations to gluten-free baking. Both the Trade Show Executive and T.S.N.N. awards were culled from data provided by show management and industry leaders, with the shows ranked by net square footage.
The T.S.N.N. is a news and on-line resource for the trade show, exhibition and event industry. TSNN.com owns and operates the most widely consulted event database on the Internet, containing data about more than 25,000 trade shows, exhibitions, public events and conferences. The Trade Show Executive is a magazine offering news, views and tools for trade show and event executives.
“Expanding show offerings was a key initiative for I.B.I.E. 2013,” said Michael Cornelis, chairman of the I.B.I.E. “This past year’s show incorporated a revamped education program, new contests, an innovation showcase to celebrate new products in the industry and a boost in the numbers of international exhibitors and attendees. We put a lot of hours into improving every aspect of I.B.I.E., and it is an honor to be recognized for our success.”
He added, “We’re not stopping now. We are already busy pouring the same fervor of energy and innovation into preparation for I.B.I.E. 2016 to make sure that it’s better than ever.”
The next Baking Expo is scheduled for Oct 8–11, 2016, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. To learn more about I.B.I.E., visit www.ibie2016.org.
