Hain Celestial releases first stackable chips
LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y. — The Hain Celestial Group, Inc. announced the availability of stacked Sensible Portions Garden Veggie chips. The new chips come in three color blends, including red (tomato, red pepper, beet), green (spinach, pea, broccoli) and yellow (sweet potato, carrot, pumpkin) in four flavors: BBQ, cheddar cheese, sour cream and onion and sea salt. The product will be available in most Wal-Mart stores starting in October with a suggested retail price of $1.98.
Ancient Harvest unveils hot cereal line
BOULDER, COLO. — Ancient Harvest is serving up a new way to consume ancient grains with the debut of its hot cereal line. Featuring a blend of quinoa, millet, amaranth and gluten-free rolled oats, the new line is organic and gluten-free. Prepared by adding water and heating in a microwave or stovetop, the hot cereals come in five flavors: apple cinnamon, banana and brown sugar, maple, honey vanilla spice and traditional. The honey maple and cinnamon and brown sugar syrups are available in a 24-oz bottle at a suggested retail price of $3.49, while cinnamon spice and pumpkin spice pancake and waffle mix is available in a 7-oz pouch or 24-oz bottle at a suggested retail price of 99c and $3.49, respectively.
SeaSnax jumps into potato chips market
LOS ANGELES — SeaSnax, the seaweed snack company, has developed a new seaweed chip, Chomperz. The new chip is offered in multiple flavors, including barbecue, jalapeño, onion and original. Chomperz seaweed chips are made with seaweed, rice, and natural seasoning and spices. The product comes in 1-oz bags containing 40 calories per serving. The new line of seaweed snacks will debut at Expo East in Baltimore.
Simply 7 debuts chip line without potatoes
HOUSTON — Simply 7 snacks are offering an alternative to the classic potato chips with their line of hummus, quinoa, lentil and pomegranate chips. Flavors include sour cream and onion and BBQ for the chips, among others. The snacks are kosher, non-bioengineered, gluten-free and vegetarian.
