Taco Bell is testing a biscuit taco as a follow-up to its popular waffle taco. |
IRVINE, CALIF. — Taco Bell announced on Sept. 5 it is testing new products in its breakfast menu. The company launched its breakfast platform on March 27.
Among the products being tested are a biscuit taco, the A.M. California Crunchwrap and the A.M. Country Crunchwrap. These options were inspired by looking at the consumer’s favorite foods, which includes Southern biscuits and gravy, and California-style food with guacamole, said the company.
The new biscuit taco includes a warm buttermilk biscuit in the shape of a taco, served with a variety of options. The options include: sausage, egg and cheese; bacon, egg and cheese; crispy chicken with country gravy; or crispy chicken with honey.
Taco Bell also is extending its A.M. Crunchwrap line with the California Crunchwrap and Country Crunchwrap. The A.M. California Crunchwrap is filled with bacon, hashbrown, eggs, guacamole, cheddar cheese and pico de gallo. The A.M. Country Crunchwrap is filled with sausage, hashbrown, eggs, classic gravy and cheddar cheese. Both are testing locally in select Orange County, Calif., and Los Angeles stores and will be available nationally by mid-October.
Earlier in the year Taco Bell revealed its breakfast platform, including variations of the Crunchwrap, a Waffle Taco, grilled tacos, a sausage flatbread melt, and breakfast burritos.
