Just in time for the holiday season, Mondelez International introduced its Colorfilled line for Oreo, allowing gift shoppers and cookie enthusiasts to customize the packaging of original Oreo cookies. For a limited time, Oreo Colorfilled turns the iconic cookie's wrapper into a canvas for imagination and personalization.
Available at shop.oreo.com, Colorfilled packs feature exclusive, illustrated black-and-white designs from graphic artists Timothy Goodman and Jeremyville. Design options include a mix of seasonal images such as waving snowmen, singing partridges, hugging penguins and mustachioed presents donning bowler hats.
The on-line customization interface works on both desktop and mobile devices and offers fans an easy way to create a completely custom package. After choosing one of the designs, consumers may zoom in or out to select the area of the design to color in. The site may then either populate the design automatically using the colors chosen, or users may manually fill in each image with a digital paint brush. Shoppers also may select some holiday flair to add to the cookie on the front of the pack with accessories such as scarves and antlers.
Those looking for a more hands-on artistic experience may order a color-your-own pack that will arrive in a black and white design of choice along with custom markers. Both on-line and manual options also allow shoppers to add a personalized note in the top corner.
"Our fans have been interacting and getting creative with Oreo cookies for more than 100 years, so bringing this behavior to our pack was a natural next step," said Janda Lukin, senior director, Oreo, Mondelez International.
Each custom Colorfilled pack is priced at $10 with $5 nationwide shipping for each order. Also available for purchase are t-shirts featuring the artist designs complete with fabric markers for coloring them in.
