BERKELEY, CALIF. — Cinnaholic, the bakery specializing in custom gourmet and vegan cinnamon rolls, plans to open 8 new franchise locations within the next couple of months across the United States. The expansion effort comes less than a year after being featured on the ABC reality show “Shark Tank.”
The new locations include Santa Rosa, Calif.; South Lake, Texas; Ocean City, Md.; Charlotte, N.C.; and four more undisclosed locations in Maryland and Delaware.
“It is still a little overwhelming when I think about everything that has happened after our episode aired on ‘Shark Tank,’” said Shannon Radke, a vegan and co-owner of Cinnaholic, along with her husband, Florian. “We made the right choice with staying calm and taking the time to find the right partners though.”
The Radkes partnered with franchise industry veteran Atlanta Franchise Group to lead their franchise growth across the United States.
“We have been very careful with selecting our franchise partners,” Mr. Radke said.
The Radkes negotiated a $200,000 investment for 40% of the company from investor Robert Herjavec on the May 9, 2014, episode of “Shark Tank.” The company plans to expand the concept to 100 units in the next five years.
