COLLEGEDALE, TENN. – McKee Foods is expanding its range of mini donut varieties with the introduction of Little Debbie cinnamon sugar bagged mini donuts. The company cited a flavor study indicating strong interest in cinnamon and cinnamon sugar donuts, especially the latter choice.
“We are excited to see how consumers respond to this new cinnamon sugar variety, as we are taking cinnamon mini donuts to the next level with a more robust cinnamon experience than what is currently in the market,” said Thomas Mossbeck, Little Debbie product manager.
Figures indicating sales of competitors’ cinnamon donuts amount to nearly half their powdered donut volume. Mr. Mossbeck said Little Debbie leads in market share of mini-donuts “across all classes of trade.”
“We have seen the power of our Powdered Mini Donuts,” he said. “Now it’s time for cinnamon sugar to shine.”
In addition to cinnamon sugar, McKee offers Little Debbie bagged mini donuts in four varieties -- powdered, chocolate frosted, glazed and coconut crunch.
