AllSweet is an allulose sugar that is 0.3 calories per gram.
IRVINE, CALIF. — Anderson Global Group plans to launch AllSweet, an allulose sugar that is 0.3 calories per gram, at the Institute of Food Technologists’ annual meeting and food exposition July 11-14 in Chicago. Conventional sugar is 4 calories per gram.
AllSweet provides a clean sweetness to beverage, bakery, frozen food, confectionery and dairy applications, and it has no unpleasant or bitter aftertaste, according to Irvine-based Anderson Global Group. It is made from non-bioengineered/non-G.M.O. corn.
Anderson Global Group partnered with CJ CheilJedang, a South Korean manufacturer, to offer AllSweet.
“We are excited to be joining forces with CJ CheilJedang to bring this truly groundbreaking sugar to the U.S. market,” said Russ Anderson, president of Anderson Global. “This ingredient performs like regular table sugar, but at a fraction of the calories. The functional advantages of AllSweet are tremendous, and we are looking forward to supporting our food and beverage customers to see what kind of innovative, low-calorie products they can produce."
