Mark Bendix, c.e.o. of East Balt Bakeries, said the company plans to continue to acquire new bakery facilities around the world.
CHICAGO – East Balt Bakeries on Sept. 1 said it had acquired two South African bakeries, one in Pretoria and one in Cape Town. The bakeries previously were a partnership with SA Food Staples Proprietary Ltd.
“We will continue to invest in and acquire new bakery facilities around the world in order to meet our growing global customer base,” said Mark Bendix, chief executive officer of East Balt Bakeries. “The acquisition not only solidifies our presence in the South African market, it also positions us to further expand to emerging markets as needed.”
East Balt Bakeries, based in Chicago, is a global bakery business with 23 bakeries in 12 countries spanning 4 continents.
