RICHMOND, VA. — Colin Powell has been promoted to vice-president of global operations at AMF Bakery Systems. In his new role, Mr. Powell will lead all aspects of solution delivery, including operations, project management and customer service to commercial bakers worldwide.
Mr. Powell has been with AMF for 17 years, holding various management positions at the company’s headquarters in Richmond. He was leading operations for the Richmond plant when he agreed to lead AMF’s Asia Pacific Operations in 2005.
“Colin was faced with an enormous challenge of leading the commercial operations at AMF’s Tianjin (China) plant in addition to our Singapore customer service office, and the broader Asia Pacific sales team,” said Jason Ward, executive vice-president of AMF. “Thanks to his leadership and the strong team he has built in the region, we have developed a thriving manufacturing base in China and are well positioned to continue our growth throughout Asia Pacific as well as other emerging markets.”
