SHAWNEE, OKLA. — Joseph W. Ford has been named president of Shawnee Milling Co., based in Shawnee. Mr. Ford’s promotion was one of several announced following the company’s 110th annual meeting.
Mr. Ford most recently was senior vice-president of operations at Shawnee Milling. The fourth generation of the Ford family to hold the position of president, Mr. Ford has been with the company since June 2005. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Business, Mr. Ford holds a master’s degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University. He is the son of William L. Ford, who he succeeds as president and who has been named chairman of Shawnee Milling.
Robert L. Ford, formerly executive vice-president and treasurer, has been promoted to vice-chairman. Bill and Bob Ford succeeded their father, Leslie Ford, who was president from 1946-1979 (see related Archive story on Page 54). Leslie Ford, in turn, succeeded his father, J. Lloyd Ford, who established Shawnee Milling in 1906.
Named executive vice-presidents of Shawnee Milling were Samuel J. Garlow and Randel W. Nusz. Mr. Garlow most recently was senior vice-president, food sales. He has been leading the food sales department at Shawnee Milling for nearly 40 years. Mr. Nusz most recently was grain-buyer, Okeene. He has been running the operations and commodity purchasing at the company’s mill in Okeene, Okla., for more than 36 years.
Additionally, Shawnee Milling named Sarah Marchetti assistant controller/assistant secretary-treasurer. She was been with the accounting department of Shawnee Milling for nearly three years.
