PORTLAND, ORE. — Bob’s Red Mill Natural Foods has launched Paleo Baking Flour, a new grain-free, gluten-free blend of almond flour, arrowroot starch, coconut flour and tapioca flour.
Bob’s Red Mill said it created the alternative flour after seeing the popularization of “paleo-inspired living.” The launch of the new flour is consistent with Bob’s Red Mill’s mission of “moving people back to the basics” and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, the release of the new paleo baking flour was spurred on by the success of the company’s nut flours, which are some of Bob’s Red Mill’s most popular products.

“We are continually blown away by the popularity and demand for our nut flours — almond flour and coconut flour having been flying off shelves,” said Matthew Cox, vice-president of marketing at Bob’s Red Mill. “With the increase in grain-free baking and interest in a paleo diet and lifestyle, there was clear demand for this new alternative flour. Creative cooking and healthy eating are core values for Bob’s Red Mill, and this new flour fits perfectly with those values.”
Keeping in line with the rest of Bob’s Red Mill’s gluten-free products, the new Paleo Baking Flour complies with gluten-free safety standards and is produced in a completely gluten-free facility.
The flour is intended to be used in the baking of paleo pizza crusts, cakes, crackers, pancakes, flatbreads, cookies, and a variety of other baked foods. Alternately, it may be used in breadings for meats and vegetables. Bob’s Red Mill’s web site offers customers a collection of recipes for all these paleo-friendly foods and more.
The new Bob’s Red Mill Paleo Baking Flour is available in a 16-oz bag at a suggested retail price of $13.99 and $25.99 for a 32-oz bag.
