Nestle's newly expanded center is now the company's largest and most sophisticated testing facility and the lead quality assurance center for all Nestle businesses in the Americas region.

DUBLIN, OHIO — Nestle USA has invested $31 million in its Nestle Quality Assurance Center in Dublin, Ohio, which was designed to support the implementation and maintenance of food safety programs. The newly expanded center is now Nestle’s largest and most sophisticated testing facility and the lead quality assurance center for all Nestle businesses in the Americas region. Enhancements include advanced food safety systems and the development of a network of quality and safety experts and laboratories.

The center has doubled in size to 82,000 square feet, which includes an expanded 32,000 square foot microbiology lab and renovated chemistry lab and associated facilities to increase capacity and efficiency and improve safety of products tested.

This is a responsibility we never take lightly.”

Furthering its commitment to food safety, Nestle also is joining the Partnership for Food Safety Education this year by supporting “The Story of Your Dinner” communication program, inviting consumers to prevent foodborne illness.

The Dublin center employs more than 220 chemists, microbiologists, food scientists, quality specialists and support staff who provide specialized laboratory services, factory hygiene and food safety systems to the company’s production facilities throughout the Americas. In total, the Nestle Quality Assurance Centers around the world perform more than 3 million analyses each year across Nestle’s entire range of products, the company said.

The investment in the Dublin center also underscores Nestle’s ongoing commitment to Ohio, where it employs more than 3,400 people across the state. Last year, the company invested $50 million in its Nestle Research and Development Center in Solon, Ohio, to support its frozen and chilled business. Solon also is home to Nestle USA’s frozen, baking and snacks divisions and Nestle Professional and Nestle Business Services. In Marysville, Ohio, the company operates a research facility, where it specializes in ready-to-drink beverage development, premium coffee and tea.
