ROBESONIA, PA. — Calling China and Southeast Asia “dynamic, developing and diverse snacking markets,” Joseph Zaleski, president of Reading Bakery Systems, said the company continues to expand its personnel and resources in the region.
“They are an important part of our growth strategy,” Mr. Zaleski said.

As part of its expansion plan, RBS is relocating several key personnel to the region. David Kuipers will take a new role as senior vice-president of sales and marketing and will relocate to Singapore to lead sales efforts in both China and Southeast Asia. Mr. Kuipers has more than 30 years of experience in the baking industry. He joined RBS in 2004 and has held several positions of increasing responsibility. Prior to working at RBS, he was with Peters Machinery of Chicago, where he was president and chief operating officer.

“RBS already has resources of people, offices and an installed base of machinery in the region,” Mr. Zaleski said. “Our aim is to add additional sales, engineering and technical personnel as a platform for continuing to develop relevant baked snack systems for those important markets.”
In addition to Mr. Kuipers’ relocation, Ric Watts will be relocating to China and will assume the role of manager of RBS Operations China. In his new position, Mr. Watts will lead the expansion of the company’s engineering and manufacturing resources at the company’s Tianjin factory, a facility already owned by the Markel Food Group. Mr. Watts has been with RBS since 2005 working in different roles in the engineering department, including mechanical designer, manager of mechanical engineering and manager of research and development engineering.
