Papa John’s plans to open an additional 28 units in Colombia.
LOUISVILLE, KY. — Papa John’s International, Inc. will open an additional 28 units in Colombia under an agreement with Grupo Nutresa, the parent company of PJ Col S.A.S. The restaurants will open in the cities of Medellin, Cartagena and Barranquilla over an eight-year period.
PJ Col already operates 29 Papa John’s restaurants in Colombia. Grupo Nutresa, a processed foods company in Colombia, acquired PJ Col in 2015.
“Our investment in Papa John’s has exceeded our expectations, and we are continuing our momentum by planning for additional units in our country,” said Felipo Baquero, managing director of PJ Col.
Papa John’s International said it is looking for potential franchisees in Brazil, the Caribbean and Honduras.
