BENICIA, CALIF. — Flavor Insights formally launched Jan. 17 as a company that produces all major forms of flavors, including powder, liquid and spray dry. The company operates out of a 110,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Benicia and seeks to work with customers in defining and developing product ideas and formulating organic, natural and natural and artificial (N&A) flavors.
The same team that developed Muscle Milk, a performance and active lifestyle drink, is working for the company in the facility.

“As the founder and creator of CytoSport and Muscle Milk, I experienced first-hand what it means to formulate, develop and market a product that tastes great and is good for you,” said Greg Pickett, founder and chairman of Flavor Insights. “When we began looking to the future in 2014, I was enthused by the idea of creating a flavor house that would serve as an innovation partner to entrepreneurs and businesses that value their customers’ experience and desire for healthy, enjoyable products.”
Flavor Insights’ pilot, scale-up spray dryers are able to duplicate conditions that will be encountered during full production, according to the company.
