WASHINGTON — Dana Perino, former White House Press Secretary, will deliver the keynote address at the American Bakers Political Action Committee dinner.
The dinner will be held Monday, March 27, during the annual meeting of the American Bakers Association. The A.B.A. annual meeting will be held at the Boca Raton Resort & Club in Boca Raton, Fla.
In her presentation, Ms. Perino will draw upon her experience as Press Secretary in President George W. Bush’s administration and her current role as co-host The Five on Fox News to offer a “behind-the-scenes understanding of media and messaging in today’s political climate,” the A.B.A. said. Ms. Perino will share the “strategies, tactics and mindset necessary to present a convincing and attractive face to customers and the American public,” the group added.
Steve Avera, chairman of the American Bakers PAC, said bakers will benefit from the depth of Ms. Perino’s experience in Washington.
“We look forward to hearing Dana’s insights on the evolution of White House communication, the emergence of social media as a messaging platform and other topics during this always-popular and important industry event,” he said.
Kelly Knowles, senior political director of the A.B.A. noted that the American Bakers PAC Roundtable and Dinner are the primary fundraising events for the calendar year.
“The success of American Bakers PAC is due to the incredible support from A.B.A. members who have a keen understanding of political engagement and how it impacts the baking industry,” she said.
In addition to her work with Fox News and in the Bush administration, Ms. Perino has served on the Broadcasting Board of Governors; initiated Minute Mentoring, a mentoring program for young women; and has provided editorial direction for “Things that Matter” by Charles Krauthammer and “The Time of Our Lives” by Peggy Noonan.
