ROBESONIA, PA. — Reading Bakery Systems (RBS) has hired Thomas W. Purkiss as director of parts and service sales. In his new position, he will focus on the continued growth of the parts and service department.
“Tom’s extensive experience in food process equipment includes production, assembly, field service and sales,” said Mike Johnson, vice-president of Thomas L. Green, an RBS brand. “We’re confident that the breadth and depth of his knowledge will be a benefit to RBS and customers.”
In his new role, Mr. Purkiss will be responsible for the planning and execution of parts marketing activities, representing RBS at trade shows, development of new product offerings and cultivation of customer relationships. He also will serve as the primary project manager for larger scale upgrade and retrofit projects sold through the RBS parts department.
Mr. Purkiss has more than 37 years of food process equipment experience. Prior to joining RBS he served in shop floor positions for saw and assembly operations. He has held shop supervisor, field service manager, project manager and aftermarket sales account manager positions.
