WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Agriculture on June 30 announced the 2017-18 (fiscal 2018) tariff-rate quota (T.R.Q.) for raw cane and refined sugar, both in line with the minimum required under World Trade Organization agreements.

The U.S.D.A. said the 2017-18 T.R.Q. for raw cane sugar was established at 1,231,497 short tons, raw value. The refined sugar T.R.Q. was established at 200,621 tons, including 176,370 tons reserved for specialty sugars as defined by the U.S. Trade Representative. The total refined sugar T.R.Q. includes the 24,251 ton minimum required under W.T.O. agreements, of which 1,825 tons is for specialty sugar.
