PHILADELPHIA — Flowers Foods, Inc. is putting a new take on sweet goods with the launch of Tastykake Kake Chips. Available in Birthday Kake and salted caramel varieties, the new products combine the crunch of a chip with the sweetness of cake.
“With the launch of Kake Chips, we’re thrilled to introduce our fans nationwide to a completely new and delicious Kake experience,” said Brent Bradshaw, vice-president of cake marketing at Flowers Foods. “Kake Chips highlight Tastykake’s wide variety of flavors and textures, and the convenient, resealable packaging makes them the ideal treat for on-the-go or at-home snacking.”
The Kake Chips contain no trans fat or artificial flavorings or preservatives, Flowers said.
The Birthday Kake variety features a birthday cake-flavored crisp with sprinkles, while the salted caramel variety combines a sweet caramel flavor with a salty “zing,” according to Flowers.
The Kake Chips are available in 6-oz resealable packages at a suggested retail price of $2.99.
