SAINT-HILAIRE-DE-LOULAY, FRANCE — VMI, a manufacturer of industrial mixing equipment, has moved its headquarters and plant to Saint-Hilaire-de-Loulay in a new business park, near the western coast of France.
“This removal is part of an ambitious company-wide project initiated in 2015,” said Dominique Denoël, chief executive officer of VMI. “Over the last two years, this project was conducted at an exceptional pace, since the building phase per se only lasted eight months. Opening a new plant marks a major, symbolic step in our development process.”
The new plant includes four identical production areas to manufacture new mixers and other equipment. The overall production area will cover 13,000 square meters (140,000 square feet), with three major architectural principles: the rationalization of flows, the modularity of spaces and significant extension capabilities to support the company’s organic growth and market development. VMI's Research and Skill Centre will have 700 square meters (7,500 square feet) to develop projects with partners that range from industrialists to suppliers and university labs.
Although the company left its flagship location in Montaigu, France, VMI will retain its 225 employees and remain an active member of the entrepreneurial community of the Vendée region.
