Improving processing through big data at Pack Expo
Bradley Weber, application engineering leader at Datalogic, spoke about big data at the Innovation Stage. He explained the critical nature of data as companies increase automation and machines begin to interact with human operators. He noted that many businesses are collecting data — in some cases, in several countries on numerous lines — but that it must all come together and be analyzed or it is worthless to operators.

With the rise of e-commerce, Mr. Weber also stressed the importance of collecting information on automated systems, so they can identify what’s inside a package and properly label and protect it.
