KANSAS CITY — The dynamic duo of sweet and salty is surging in new salted caramel snack launches.
Flowers Foods, Inc. is infusing the sweet and salty flavor into its new Kake Chips, which combine the crunch of a chip with the sweetness of cake. The Kake Chips contain no trans fat or artificial flavorings or preservatives, Flowers said, and the variety combines a sweet caramel flavor with a salty “zing.”
Eagle Foods is putting a new spin on its classic caramel corn with new Salted Caramel Popped Corn with Pretzels, featuring caramel-coated popcorn and chunks of salted pretzels.
Biena Foods is launching new chickpea snacks featuring crunchy roasted chickpeas covered in salted caramel. The product line is positioned as a permissible indulgence, and each serving contains 140 calories, 4 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber.
