BATTLE CREEK, MICH. — In less than a month, the Kellogg Co. will open the doors of a new cereal cafe located in New York City’s Union Square neighborhood. Kellogg has described the cafe as more than just a place to eat, calling it “a destination for foodies and people to chill, create and explore the endless possibilities of cereal all in one place.”
The Battle Creek-based company opened Kellogg’s NYC cereal cafe in July 2016 in Times Square. On Aug. 13, 2017, the company closed the 1,600-square-foot cafe in preparation of a move to a larger location, scheduled to open on Dec. 7, 2017. The new location includes several new features, including:
• An open-concept kitchen where guests can watch as cereal creations are made. Guests will be able to select items off the menu or create unique combinations. Additionally, the cafe will feature a do-it-yourself cereal creation station with ingredients fresh from the Union Square farmer’s market.
• A revamped cereal-inspired menu, including favorites from the original Times Square location and new creations inspired by “surprise partners.”
• A focus on social media enthusiasts. Guests will be able to capture cereal selfies and food photos in areas where Kellogg said cereal and Kellogg’s characters “vibrantly and colorfully come to life.”
