MINNEAPOLIS — General Mills Foodservice is launching a line of baking products with no artificial flavors or colors from artificial sources under its Gold Medal and Pillsbury brands.
The reformulated portfolio includes bread, biscuit, brownie, cake and muffin mixes as well as frozen cinnamon rolls, muffins and scones. The products were designed to help bakeries, restaurants and food service operations “meet consumer demand for baked items made with simpler ingredients,” General Mills said.

“We are always looking at ways to improve our products to meet the changing needs and preferences of today’s consumers,” said Michael Braden, senior culinary manager for General Mills Foodservice. “General Mills is proud to offer a robust portfolio of baking products with a cleaner profile so our operators can feel even better about using these beloved products they already know and trust.”
Gold Medal biscuit, griddle and bread mixes are currently available with no artificial flavors or colors from artificial sources, while Gold Medal muffin, brownie and cake mixes will be available by June 2018. All new Gold Medal products will feature redesigned packaging with updates graphics, photography and easier-to-read instructions, the company said. “General Mills understands the important role these products play in helping our customers in their own operations,” Mr. Braden said. “We have made every effort to ensure our new baking portfolio matches the quality products that they have come to love and are confident the products will continue to deliver great-tasting, consistent results.”
