Bimbo Bakeries USA has entered an agreement to acquire the Cicero, Ill.-based baking plant of Aryzta.
HORSHAM, PA. — Bimbo Bakeries USA (B.B.U.) has entered an agreement to acquire the Cicero, Ill.-based baking plant of Aryzta. Aryzta acquired the Cicero facility in 2014 as part of its acquisition of Cloverhill Bakery.
“We look forward to leveraging the full capabilities of this bakery when the transaction is finalized,” B.B.U. said.
In addition to the sale of the Cicero facility, Aryzta said it has agreed to sell its Cloverhill facility in Chicago to Hostess Brands, Inc. Cloverhill makes Danish pastries, cinnamon rolls, crumb cakes, donuts and honey buns, primarily sold through vending machines.
“These disposals are consistent with Aryzta’s commitment to address non-core or non-strategic businesses and reflect a focus on maximizing free cash flow,” Aryzta said.
