Formulated with 100% whole grains, the pellets deliver the texture consumers expect from traditional fried tortilla chips but with a whole new look. Fiber content can be boosted to allow “good source of fiber” claims. The tortilla pellets are also available in a medium range expansion that can be air-popped and are very low in fat. Adding vegetables such as black bean, red bean or sweet potato in the formula can bolster healthy appeal. The company can also produce these as micro pellets for pressure puffing.
