MARSHALL, MINN. — The Schwan Food Co. said Tuesday it has eliminated 52 jobs. The announcement follows the company’s decision in October to eliminate 78 jobs companywide, including 67 at its Marshall headquarters.
Schwan said the latest cuts are in home service, consumer brands North America, food service, global supply chain, information services, Schwan University, corporate administration and law, and human resources and finance.
Greg Flack, who was named president and chief executive officer less than a year ago, said the company is trying to stay competitive in the frozen food industry during changing economic times.
In addition to the job cuts, Schwan in December sold off one of its European pizza businesses.
