MUNICH, GERMANY — The German Bakers’ Confederation and GHM Gesellschaft fur Handwerksmessen have moved the date for iba 2012 to Sept. 17-22, 2012. In moving the date, the iba now will be held just prior to Oktoberfest, Munich’s world-famous beer festival.
According to iba show organizers, the date change will help reduce the cost of accommodation for exhibitors and visitors, as well as give participants a chance to combine iba with a trip to the Oktoberfest.
"We are pleased that this flexible agreement with Messe Munchen as the centre organizer has been reached, in the wake of the decision to make Munich the long-term home of iba," said Peter Becker, chairman of the German Bakers’ Confederation. "We have also taken out an option to hold iba 2015 in the same period in relation to the Oktoberfest. We are confident that as well as the attractiveness of the location and the capabilities of the host organizer, GHM, worldwide this will give an additional incentive to participation in iba 2012."
The World fair for Bakers and Confectioners takes place every three years in Munich. A diversity of products is presented, from ingredients, bakery aids and semi-finished products to small- and large-scale machinery such as baking ovens.
