PURCHASE, N.Y. — Shona L. Brown has been elected to the PepsiCo, Inc. board of directors. Ms. Brown is senior vice-president of business operations of Google, Inc. She was previously vice-president of business operations for Google.

Her election is effective immediately, and she will participate as a member of the board’s compensation committee and nominating and corporate governance committee.
